Scotland is a great place to study. It is home to more world class universities per head of population than just about anywhere else in the world.

It is a destination of choice, for students of all nationalities, for three reasons:

  1. the quality of education, underpinned by world-class research;
  2. the tremendous breadth of learning on offer, and;
  3. universities’ focus on employability.

Colleges

Scotland has 26 colleges in total after many merging in recent years to offer a more streamlined approach.

Colleges provide opportunities for learners across Scotland which range from courses for those with low or no skills – providing a lifeline into work – up to degree level qualifications.  Last year, colleges delivered around 74 million hours of learning to over 230,000 students.
