Supporting Scottish Apprenticeship Week

Supporting Scottish Apprenticeship Week.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2018 will take place from 5-9 March.
The theme for 2018 is ‘Apprenticeships are the Business’, recognising the crucial role they play in providing a skilled workforce now and in the future.
Events and activities involving employers, apprentices, colleges, universities, local authorities and training providers will take place across the country to celebrate the success of individuals and businesses.
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) organises Scottish Apprenticeship Week to encourage many more employers to take on apprentices.
Around 12,000 organisations already employ Modern Apprentices, from family firms to multi-nationals across every type of business.
With SDS working with industry to support a target of 28,000 new Modern Apprenticeship starts this year, as well as around 2,600 Foundation Apprenticeships and approximately 900 Graduate Apprenticeships – it’s never been more important to promote the apprenticeship family.
SDS wants businesses, industry, colleges, councils, training providers and those with a shared interest in the success of the apprenticeships to back Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2018 and encourage many more employers to take on apprentices.
An information page on Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2018 has been launched on the apprenticeship.scot website, which includes an online form to enable employers and others to register any events or activity planned to take place during the campaign. There is also the opportunity for employers to pledge support by making the Apprenticeship Employer Promise to take on an apprentice.
