Construction Scotland: the industry leadership group

Construction Scotland described itself as the leadership organisation for Scotland's construction industry: a partnership between businesses, trade bodies, colleges, universities and the public sector, recognised by the Scottish Government as the voice of the industry. It shared its website with the innovation centre.

Its six priorities

• Procurement: a fundamental change in the way capital procurement works in Scotland.
• Skills: more people, more skills and more diversity in the construction workforce.
• Quality and standards: better customer satisfaction and occupant safety, and fewer defects.
• Planning and building regulations: regulations and planning systems that support sustainable investment.
• Growth opportunities: raising awareness of opportunities for every part of the industry.
• Productivity and innovation: a more productive, innovative and profitable industry.

Its Industry Leadership Group brought together leaders from contractors, trade federations and professional bodies. During the COVID-19 pandemic it coordinated the site operating guidance and re-start plan used across Scottish sites.
