What is Passivhaus in Practice?


Passivhaus in Practice is a training programme for those who want to gain new low-carbon skills in construction.

The training is funded by Scottish Funding Council and delivered by a number of training specialists, including world-renowned BRE, passivhaus training specialists AECB & WARM, and Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.


Immersive Online Training Courses 


Online training in Passivhaus design and standards using immersive learning techniques that provide the learners the opportunities to receive experiences similar to those they would receive if undertaking the physical Passivhaus training workshops.

Take the modules

Passivhaus Workshops

Delivered in the CSIC's Innovation Factory, using Passivhaus rigs, learners gain hands-on experience to develop their practical skills.

Face-to-face training will be delivered to 200 participants at CSIC’s Innovation Factory with 100 of them going on to become certified practitioners. 

Practical training starts 18 January 2022.

Passivhaus buildings achieve a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for UK new builds. The Passivhaus standard therefore gives a robust method to help the industry achieve the 80% carbon reductions that are set as a legislative target for the UK Government.
