What is Passivhaus in Practice?


Passivhaus in Practice is a training programme for those who want to gain new low-carbon skills in construction.

The training is funded by Scottish Funding Council and delivered by a number of training specialists, including world-renowned BRE, passivhaus training specialists AECB & WARM, and Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.


Immersive Online Training Courses 


Online training in Passivhaus design and standards using immersive learning techniques that provide the learners the opportunities to receive experiences similar to those they would receive if undertaking the physical Passivhaus training workshops.

AECB CarbonLite Passivhaus Contractor Training 


This free expert-led online training from AECB CarbonLite consists of 3x half day morning sessions 9am - 12pm. It is recommended for anyone who has a sound knowledge of construction principles and an awareness in Passivhaus principles.


Hands-on practical training

Passivhaus buildings achieve a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for UK new builds. The Passivhaus standard therefore gives a robust method to help the industry achieve the 80% carbon reductions that are set as a legislative target for the UK Government.
