What is Passivhaus in Practice?

 

Passivhaus in Practice is a training programme running from April to August 2021 for those who want to gain new low-carbon skills in construction.

The training is funded by Scottish Funding Council and delivered by a number of training specialists, including world-renowned BRE, passivhaus training specialists AECB & WARM, and Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.

We have up to 500 online training places and 100 places for face-to-face training on offer.

Immersive Online Training Courses 

 

Online training in Passivhaus design and standards using immersive learning techniques that provide the learners the opportunities to receive experiences similar to those they would receive if undertaking the physical Passivhaus training workshops.

Our online training in Passivhaus Standards is now open for booking. There are three different types of training available suited to different levels of knowledge in Passivhaus.

 

Online training 

1. BRE Introduction to Passivhaus

This training consists of 1x half day morning session. This would be recommended for anyone who wants to develop a sound knowledge and understanding of Passivhaus. This training is open to all. 

2. Mini-series in Passivhaus Standards

The series will consist of 1-hour sessions that will run from April to August covering a variety of topics in Passivhaus Standards and Principles. The Mini-series is open to everyone to gain a wider knowledge in Passivhaus.

3. AECB Carbon Lite Passivhaus Contractor Training 

This training consists of 2x half day afternoon sessions spread over two set dates. This training would be recommended for anyone who has a sound knowledge of construction principles and at least an awareness in Passivhaus principles.

Online training sessions are all fully booked. 

Passivhaus Workshops

Delivered in the CSIC's Innovation Factory, using Passivhaus rigs, learners will gain hands-on experience to develop their practical skills. This training will be delivered to educators on 23rd June and everyone else on 30th June.
